Job description

The Quality Analyst is a key member of the Traffic Quality Team. The Quality Team's primary purpose is to certify and improve the quality of the traffic data sent to the end user. Using test systems, data collection, qualitative/quantitative analysis, developed programs and tools, and continuous process improvement techniques, the Quality Team is part of the Traffic team and the driving force that insures high standards and guarantees errors are mitigated and corrected.

The Traffic Quality Analyst is an entry to mid-level position with primary responsibility for defining, developing, and executing the evaluation of traffic data. In addition, the Traffic Quality Analyst will identify, build, document, and implement specific quality tests for the Traffic Group and monitor the quality of data passed to customers through the traffic systems.

Responsibilities
• Using the Quality Evaluation Process, certify the data from traffic data suppliers and insure accurate processing of data by production systems. This includes collecting, cataloging, analyzing, and summarizing all information collected during the Quality Evaluation Process and documenting a final report with recommendations.
• Work with existing scripts for databases and program new scripts (e.g. SQL) to complete analysis of traffic data
• Work with existing applications and off-the-shelf GIS tools (e.g. Arcview) to complete standardized and ad-hoc analysis of traffic data which can be applied to a map by position and time.
• Work with other teams to develop and deploy product improvements and enhanced quality processes.
• Support user acceptance testing of traffic systems by analytically comparing the traffic systems against known benchmarks.
• This position may include up to 25% travel and on-the-road work as part of the evaluation process.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role:
• You have a university degree in Computer Science / GIS or similar academic background;
• You have 1-3 years work experience and proven programming knowledge in one or more languages such as C++, Java, Visual Basic;
• You have 1-3 years work experience in database management including database queries and reports (i.e. SQL, Oracle, MS Access);
• You are experienced in the creation and use of scripts which automate program execution (e.g. Perl, Python, Java) or experience with building and maintaining GUI interfaces;
• Business experience in data quality assurance, testing, and analysis;
• Previous work experience with using data products or large databases, including statistical analysis of complex databases;
• You are business fluent in English;
• Driving license category “B” and clean driving record.

It’s preferred if you have:
• You’re skilled with GIS applications (e.g. ARCGIS, Arcmap, Arcinfo);
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills;
• You are a Self learner with the ability to work with deadlines and to work under pressure;
• The aptitude to document procedures and results for customer consumption.
